We’re in the process of expanding our range of Bass Guitars – at the moment we only have a couple on the site with a third in production. We generally build basses to order rather than stock standard models but as a price guide, anything stock P or J shaped with the usual electronics will have an RRP of £1,600.00 including a hardcase. Any non-standard, bespoke or custom versions start at £1,700.00

The original electric bass with a slab asymmetrical body, T-Type headstock and singlecoil pickup… Our version also features a bakelite scratchplate and will soon gain a tug-bar and some more wear and tear to compliment the neck. For now enjoy the images below…
Eternal PJ Custom Bass
Custom built for Chris Williams, our PJ Bass blends the best of P and J Bass tones but with a bound neck and block inlays and an Olympic White over Three Tone Sunburst finish – the completed instrument is a classy light relic built for a gigging musician.
The finish mimics the look of a factory ‘refinished’ guitar. With the usual wear and tear of playing, this solid colour top coat would begin to fade or rub off revealing the original finish beneath and this is the look we’re going to recreate with this bass.
It was common in the ‘60s for a stock sunburst finished guitar to be sprayed over in a solid colour – usually in the factory during production if a custom colour order came in. If there were finished sunburst bodies ready to go (the stock colour of the time) then it was simpler and faster to grab one off the rack and spray straight over the sealed sunburst finish than to start from scratch.
Instruments would also be returned to the factory for a refin in a different colour after purchase and of course many were refinished later in the guitars life after many years of use – usually before anyone realised the potential future value would be affected. Subsequently, many vintage guitars that are dismissed as ‘refinished’ and devalued were actually colour coated before they ever left the factory so are in fact as original as any sunburst models.

Eternal PJ Custom Bass Specification
Neck: C-shaped maple finished in aged nitrocellulose
Fingerboard: 9.5” radius rosewood with medium jumbo frets, Pearloid block markers and binding
Body: Alder, P-Type Body with J-Rout in Bridge
Finish: Lightly aged nitrocellulose lacquer – Olympic white over Three-Tone Sunburst
Pickguard: Aged mint green 3-ply
Hardware: Gotoh GEB-201 Chrome Bridge, Gotoh GB11 Chrome Machine Heads. Flush mount Dunlop Strap Locks, aged knurled chrome knobs.
Electronics: Seymour Duncan STK-J2b bridge pickup and Fender 57/62 P-Bass pickup in Eternal aged covers. CTS volume pot for each pickup and a CTS master tone control with a Sprague Orange Drop capacitor. Switchcraft side-mounted output jack and cloth covered hook up wiring.
