Jamie West-Oram Signature Model
Jamie West-Oram is best known as the sonic architect behind The Fixx, where his expressive, textural guitar work helped define hits like One Thing Leads to Another and Red Skies. With a platinum and gold-selling catalogue, Jamie’s extensive resume also includes collaborations with icons like David Bowie, Tina Turner, Stevie Nicks and Brian Eno.
A long-time friend and client of Eternal, Jamie approached us with the idea of building a guitar that merged the aesthetic of a T-Type with the feel and flexibility of his favoured S-Type builds. The result? The JWO-1 — a sleek, expressive, road-ready instrument built to his exacting vision and stage-tested tone requirements.
Design & Construction
Starting with a modified T-style body shape we’d been developing, we added:
- Refined upper fret access
- A snub-nosed upper horn
- Forearm and tummy contours for comfort
- A vibrant nitro “Luscious Lilac” finish — inspired by Jamie’s wife Bibi’s socks
The feel was guided by Jamie’s Custom Shop Strat, with a familiar “spine” of tonewoods: a solid alder body, dark rosewood board, and a stable maple neck. The neck profile was a pivotal element — Jamie asked for more depth and width than usual, and after testing it unfinished, chose to leave the full-fat C-profile untouched. Combined with 6105 stainless frets and a 7.25” radius, the neck offers unmatched stability, sustain, and personality.

Jamie’s control setup is deliberately simple: a master volume and tone — placed exactly where he prefers it for quick on-the-fly manipulation during live performances.
Electronics & Tone
The JWO-1 is loaded with Jamie’s own “Fixxer” Signature Set — custom-wound Eternal pickups designed to deliver clarity, space and a musical edge. These are direct-mounted to the body for extra resonance and tonal detail, and wired through:
- CTS brass collar 250k pots
- CRL 5-way switch
- Orange Drop cap
- Switchcraft jack
- Cloth push-back wire
