'Skye' the Sonic Blue over Sunburst T-Type

Skye is a real wolf in sheep’s pyjama’s… With an extremely lightweight and heavily contoured ash body, this one is a breeze to play with fantastic upper fret access. The heavily aged all nitrocellulose finish is a full three-tone sunburst beneath the worn thorough Sonic Blue overcoat. A slick maple neck with compound 9.5 - 12” radius dark rosewood 'board and 21 massive 6000 size frets lend a modern easy to play feel, and our own clay face dots with Luminlay side dots to guide you on darker stages. 
 
Hardware is all aged Gotoh and Kluson with three compensated brass saddles for epic tone, while the electronics are our usual top notch CTS, switchcraft and CRL components: a simple master volume and tone control set-up with a 3-way selector switch to choose between our aged nickel-covered 'PAF Replica' neck humbucker and our punchy Turbo-T bridge pickup.
 
The Turbo T is a true single coil with added grunt. Tall 6mm diameter flat stagger magnets and lots of winds add beef and a thick, chunky voice. With gain the tone is fat and loud with just the right amount of low string clarity and enough output to compliment a full size neck humbucker. Back off the volume and it cleans up for a brighter percussive voice with a healthy dollop of tele twang. Not quite as poky in output terms as our wonderful and very popular T90 pickup, the ‘Turbo T’ offers a thicker, broader voice with a pronounced midrange hump perfect for nudging your tone into humbucker territory within the footprint and ashtray bridge of a normal Tele.   Our "PAF Replica" really nails the open, transparent tones of the original late '50s humbuckers, by using all the correct components and our own coil wind recipe for that perfect 'edge of microphonic' tone, that offers fantastic clarity and note definition even in the neck position - just like the originals did.
