Originally developed for our SRV Tribute guitar, the Eternal Timeless ’59 Pickup Set captures the unmistakable voice associated with one of Fender’s most revered years - 1959. With their delicate balance of glassy highs, sweet mids, and just the right touch of microphonic air, these pickups evoke the magic found in some of the finest late-’50s Stratocaster® instruments.
Hand-wound and built with meticulous attention to vintage construction methods, the Timeless ’59 Set delivers not just classic tone, but classic feel — that unmistakable responsiveness and harmonic bloom that comes from low-wind single coils crafted the traditional way.
Built Using Period-Correct Methods
Every Eternal Timeless ’59 pickup is constructed using materials and techniques inspired by those used in Fender’s original late-1950s pickups — from staggered Alnico 5 magnets, to nitrocellulose-dipped and hand-sanded bobbins, to the signature Heavy Formvar coil wire carefully scatter-wound by hand for authentic tonal character.
We also employ traditional black wax potting similar to that used in vintage pickups. This light potting approach allows a subtle degree of coil movement at high volume, contributing to the lively, slightly microphonic character that gives great vintage pickups their airy transparency and dynamic response.
Vintage-Inspired Details, Authentic Feel
Available either aged or un-aged, and as a calibrated set of three or individual pickups, each Timeless ’59 pickup is wound in the same direction with no reverse-wound / reverse-polarity (RW/RP) middle pickup — reflecting the design approach used in early Stratocaster® pickups and preserving the open, expressive tone across all switch positions.
